Special Announcement Concerning Linda’s Health

As you know, I underwent emergency surgery in Haiti this past October.  My gallbladder and appendix were removed during that twelve day hospital stay.  I have been striving to recover from a number of subsequent infections, even after a four day hospital stay in Iowa in November on intravenous antibiotics.  The pain has never fully gone away and sometimes becomes so bad that it drops me to my knees or wakes me up at night and completely incapacitates me for a day or two, sometimes three.  We have not been able to figure out the cause, believing as the doctors did, that it would heal in time.  That was not the case and another excruciatingly painful round started again during the wee hours of the morning of February 19.   A multitude of tests have been run with no definitive answers.  Doctors have called me an enigma and shake their heads while saying, “Interesting.”  I am convinced it is spiritual warfare in action; an attempt to stop us from doing the work God has called us to do.  A laparoscopy was scheduled for February 27 and had to be rescheduled to February 28 (today); apparently one of the antibiotics caused my blood to become too thin for surgery.  A change in antibiotics and the operating room is secured for 24 hours later.

No power in the sky above or the earth below – indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed Christ Jesus our Lord. – Romans 8:39

The laparoscopy is an attempt for the doctors to physically see what the various scans and test results have not been able to provide for us clearly.  The goal of the laparoscopy is, if not to fix the problem, at least for the doctors to know what course of action to take.

I plan to give another update when the results of the laparoscopy are available. My Home Office at World Outreach Ministries is aware of the situation and is standing with me in prayer for a full recovery.  I have been in constant communication with the boys in Haiti.  They have been praying and sending messages of encouragement via Messenger and WhatsApp.   The above mentioned verse (Romans 8:39) was sent to me by multiple people this week, some in Haiti, some in the States.  It definitely is my desire is to return to Haiti as soon as possible but am heeding the advise of family and friends, both in the States and in Haiti, to fully recover before doing so.

Please prayerfully consider giving additional support to go towards these health bills and travel costs for going back and forth from Haiti, etc.

Again, you will receive an update as soon as we have results in and have a better idea of what is going on.  Thank you for your continued prayer and financial support.

Matthew 25:40 – “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’”
